An open, spontaneous report to Bill and Melinda Gates
and your Foundation, continued

Jan and Uniteam

Internally, and in projects, there can arise the need for the special kind of meeting--the full participation of people of opposing viewpoints, the camaraderie, the unity, the wise decisions and productive results--the meetings this system provides, for large groups, even groups of fifty or more at a time.  And at times, teams that use the fully self-contained services of Uniteam programs may need to hold meetings with people who are not yet fully trained.

For these reasons you should have a core team of facilitators (we would call them moderators) trained in the use of the companion to Uniteam™, called Synthesys®.  And this training, and the license for its use should be provided to the organizations and community where projects occur.

Individuals, families, and small groups that have no special situations normally have no need for Synthesys.  Those who do need that will be pleased to know that the support program for Synthesys use is co-designed with Uniteam, so a team that needs both can install both in the same folder, with a single data base, and schedule meetings in either mode.  Even though a Moderator and Note-taker are standard in Synthesys meetings, those people are trained to be just like the Guide and Coach, the alter egos of the Uniteam suite of programs--humble, positive, totally open, totally unbiased, with the responsibility to emulate the Uniteam alter egos, and avoid thinking about what the answer should be.

Something that would be special, we think, for the people of your Foundation, the people you serve, and many of the rest of us who will use these tools to improve the quality of family and business and school and community life in the future would be for the two of you to volunteer to become alter egos so that people in need of help could choose you to help them.  Your obvious success in life could inspire, and it would be an association with the world of computers that might surprise, and certainly would charm.  This would be more strained if your company had developed this.  As it is, it becomes natural and quite full of meaning.  And you could give hope and courage to millions of people.

It does not seem that the world’s desperate situation and overwhelming needs at this moment allows for the development cycle of something like this, but then it need not.  The 45 years invested in getting to this point seems to have yielded another ‘just in time’ resource.
